Wuggy (beta) is a pseudoword generator particularly geared towards making nonwords for psycholinguistic experiments in Hindi. It requires a template word as an input parameter.
In literatures, many types of methods have been proposed for generating pseudo-words for a language. These methods generally use generation algorithms which control for properties like neighborhood density, bigram frequency between words and its corresponding non-words.
Wuggy, a recent psuedoword generation algorithm, controls for syllabic structure and transitional frequency of sub-syllabic elements to create psuedowords. In addition, Wuggy uses bigram chains as a phonotactic grammar of the language. This solves the problem of high order computation needed for long words in other methods.
